We know that you have a choice for your surgical procedure, and we are honored that you have chosen Park Place Surgical Hospital. Our clinical staff takes great pride in providing exceptional service and medical care in a safe and comforting environment.

Park Place is committed to confidentiality concerning your personal and medical information. If you have any special needs or concerns about confidentiality and your privacy, please notify our staff.

If you have an advance directive, living will or health proxy form, it should be brought with you to the hospital. If you do not, this information will be provided at the time of admission.

What you should know:

  • You may bathe or shower the night before or morning of your surgery.
  • You may brush your teeth the morning of surgery but do not swallow any water.
  • Follow your physician’s directive regarding your regular medication; bring all such medication with you the day of surgery.
  • Please notify your doctor if you develop any sign of illness during the days immediately before your procedure; even something as minor as a rash or an ant bite near the operative site.
  • A parent or legal guardian must accompany a minor scheduled for surgery and remain at the facility until the minor is discharged. If you are a legal guardian, proof of legal guardianship must be presented before surgery.
  • A responsible adult must be present in the waiting area during the time of surgery and available to drive the patient home.
  • Valuables such as money, credit cards, jewelry, and valued personal items should not be brought with you to the hospital. Do bring a case for dentures and glasses and/or contact lenses with you on the morning of your procedure.
  • It is recommended that you DO NOT smoke for 12 hours before or after your procedure. Do NOT drink alcohol 24 hours before or after your surgery. This can affect the depth of your anesthesia.
  • We ask that you bring no more than two people with you for your surgery. Only one person will be allowed with you in the recovery/holding area.

The Medical Records department will require authorization for release of any medical records, except in the case of transfer to another health care facility, or as required by law or third party payment contract.
