An ear, nose & throat surgeon (commonly referred to as ENT) is specially trained to diagnose and treat diseases of the head, neck and related structures. Also known as otolaryngologists, these surgeons often treat conditions that affect your breathing, hearing, balance, taste and other senses. The skilled ENT surgeons at Park Place can provide a variety of procedures that are vital to alleviating problems and improving your ear, nose or throat health.
Adenoidectomy and Tonsillectomy are procedures used to remove the adenoids from the back of the nasal cavity and/or remove the tonsils from the back of the mouth. These procedures are often performed together to relieve obstructed breathing, treat sleep apnea or due to inflammation/infection.
This procedure involves the removal of tonsil tags, which are remnants of the tonsil that were not completely removed during a previous tonsillectomy. It is also possible for tonsil tags to regenerate or re-grow from the tissue that was left behind. When infection or inflammation occurs, the tonsil tags may need to be surgically removed.
