Treatment For Endomestriosis

Gynecologic surgeons utilize laparoscopy to both diagnose and treat endometriosis. In most cases, the diagnosis and operative treatment are performed during a single procedure.

local or general anesthesia may be used
surgeon will make a small incision to the abdomen near the navel
a laparoscope (with a tiny camera) is inserted to allow the surgeon to view the reproductive organs
if endometriosis is detected, the surgeon will utilize thin surgical instruments to excise and remove any endometriotic lesions and adhesions that are present
