Carpal Tunnel Surgery

This surgical procedure is utilized to relieve pain and numbness in the hand caused by Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. This is accomplished by cutting the transverse carpal ligament, which releases pressure on the Median Nerve.

  • Local or general anesthesia may be used
  • Surgeon will make a small incision in the wrist and/or the palm
  • An Endoscope (with a tiny camera) is inserted to allow the surgeon to view the inside of the wrist
  • Thin surgical instruments are inserted and utilized to cut the transverse carpal ligament
