Diagnostic and Operative Laparoscopy

Gynecologists will sometimes utilize Laparoscopy as a diagnostic tool to identify the source of various medical problems. In addition, Laparoscopy may be used to perform a wide range of operations including treatment of Endometriosis, removal of an Ectopic Pregnancy, Hysterectomy, Ovarian Cystectomy, Sacral Culpopexy and more.

Local or general anesthesia may be used
Laparoscope and/or surgical instruments may be inserted through incisions in the abdomen or through the vagina, depending upon the procedure
