Diagnostic and Operative Laparoscopy

Gynecologists will sometimes utilize Laparoscopy as a diagnostic tool to identify the source of various medical problems. In addition, Laparoscopy may be used to perform a wide range of operations including treatment of Endometriosis, removal of an Ectopic Pregnancy, Hysterectomy, Ovarian Cystectomy, Sacral Culpopexy and more.

Hysterectomy

A hysterectomy involves the surgical removal of the uterus. In some cases, the ovaries, fallopian tubes or cervix may also be removed. A laparoscopic hysterectomy may be performed either through the abdomen or through the vagina.

Treatment For Endomestriosis

Gynecologic surgeons utilize laparoscopy to both diagnose and treat endometriosis. In most cases, the diagnosis and operative treatment are performed during a single procedure.
