Bunion Correction
Bunion Correction is a surgical procedure involving the removal of a bunion and correction of the deformed area near the big toe where the bunion was located. Depending on the severity of the condition, the surgeon may simply remove the bunion or perform a more extensive procedure if needed.
- Local or general anesthesia may be used
- The most simple procedure involves the surgeon removing the bunion and closing the wound
- In some cases, the surgeon will also need to cut the big toe joint and realign it into the proper position
- In some cases, the surgeon will need to replace the damaged joint with metal plates or screws
