Excision of Tonsil Tags

This procedure involves the removal of tonsil tags, which are remnants of the tonsil that were not completely removed during a previous tonsillectomy. It is also possible for tonsil tags to regenerate or re-grow from the tissue that was left behind. When infection or inflammation occurs, the tonsil tags may need to be surgically removed.

• local or general anesthesia may be used
• surgeon may remove the tonsil tags by cutting them out or utilizing a laser
