Dr. Amanda Lemoine Alleyn, M.D. is a native of Avoyelles Parish. She and her husband, Ed, have two children, William and Caroline. They are delighted to have settled in Lafayette where they love experimenting with new recipes, spending time with family and friends, and enjoying local music and events. Dr. Alleyn graduated from St. Joseph School in 1999. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from Louisiana State University in 2003. She then attended LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans where she earned her doctorate of medicine in 2009. Dr. Alleyn then trained in Obstetrics and Gynecology at LSU Health Science Center in New Orleans, where she served as Chief Resident. She received the Excellence in Laparoscopic Surgery award and is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. During her training she participated in both routine and high risk obstetrical and gynecological care, obtaining thorough knowledge and practice in minimally invasive surgical technique. She has been board certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology since 2015. She currently serves as the Chairperson of the Department of Women’s Services at Lafayette General Medical Center. Dr. Alleyn is also a board member for Maddie’s Footprints, a local nonprofit organization that provides emotional and financial support for families who have experienced pregnancy or infant loss.
